You must be attending a GGUSD high school for the duration of the program.

Please provide a signed copy of the Parent Acknowledgement Form.

To help us with the selection process, you will need to answer the following questions separately in your submission. Responses to all questions are required.

► Provide a 500-word maximum personal statement that discusses your background and the reason why you want to participate in this student exchange program and become a Garden Grove ambassador.

► Please list the extracurricular activities (school, community, church, etc.) that you are involved in with a brief description of your participation in each and when you started/ended each activity.

► Your expenses over and above the scholarship amount (airfare, passport, insurance, incidentals, etc.) will be approximately $700-$1000, depending on the airfare for the given year. Please explain how you will be financing these expenses.

A copy of your school transcript (not progress report).

Please ask your writers to submit their letters of recommendation.

Please note, letters from friends and family members are not acceptable.

You will be responsible for covering approximately half of the airfare, which has averaged $700–$1,000 in past years. The scholarship covers the other half of airfare, along with certain other travel expenses (travel insurance, etc)

You will also be responsible for any costs related to obtaining or renewing a passport, as well as incidentals such as meals, shopping, and other personal expenses while in Korea.

Students who are able to host will be prioritized in the selection process. Hosting is an integral part of the student exchange, and we highly recommend that you host a student to get the best experience from the program. We reserve the rights to shift selection decisions to accommodate accordingly. Please see the Host Requirements for more information.
